Origin & Meaning of ZUMA NESTA ROCK:
Zuma is an unusual choice of name - fitting for a rock star with a unique & individual style like Gwen, and though no official origin, it is believed Zuma was named for the couple's fave beach of the same name in Malibu, the same beach being inspiration for the Neil Young album of the same name. Nesta is of Spanish origin, meaning "serious" but reportedly chosen by the couple as homage to reggae legend Bob Marley, whose middle name was Nesta. Rock is of Old English origin, translated as "from the rocks" - in this case, rock star parents...It has been suggested that the name Rock may pay tribute to No Doubt's 3rd album "Rock Steady", which has a heavy reggae influence and was recorded mostly in Jamaica - therein lies another Bob Marley connection...
