Meaning & Origin of EDEN & SAVANNAH: EDEN is of Hebrew origin to mean "delight" or "the first place of pleasure" (ie, the Garden of Eden in the Old Testament). SAVANNAH is of Old English origin meaning "a treeless plane". In the Native American Taino language it also translates to "open plane". In an interview with People magazine, Marcia explains that the name Savannah came to her in a premonition then when, out of the blue, her husband mentioned he liked the name, it was too bizarre a coincidence to let it go by the wayside. She goes on to say the name Eden came to her during a massage. Marcia usually tends to dress her twin girls in different outfits which is a nice throw back to tradition
