Origin & Meaning of JAMES HOKE: James is of Old English origin, meaning "to supplant or replace" and is a variant of Jacob, one of the 12 apostles. Hoke is a family name of the Dorough's - it was the name of Howie's late father who sadly passed away last year. The family is reportedly ecstatic to have a boy to carry on the family name
